"Live at the Music Cafe" |
Recorded
April 2005 at Fitton Center for the Arts in Hamilton, Ohio, Mark Cormican - Live at the Music Cafe,
captures the energy and enthusiasm of that night. This 19 song CD features
old favorites and some "soon-to-be" hits. Mark adds new life into some of
the older songs of his first 3 CDs, including "One Fine Autumn Day" and
"Puff, the Magic Dragon" and puts a new spin on the more recent songs like
"Hourglass" and "Tough Life". Throw in some new, originals and Live at the Music Cafe delivers
on all counts.

"Hourglass" |
Entitled "HOURGLASS", this project features some of
Mark's best work yet. His songwriting skills show a range and depth unequalled
in his earlier recordings. There are heartfelt and tender words as well as an
irreverent look at recent political events. One song talks of Mark's need (or
lack of the need) to be a Hero, and another speaks of the simple joy to be found
in watching the sun set. This CD will bring out every emotion in the listener,
leaving them both happy and sad, but very glad for the experience of listening
to Mark sing.

"Mark Cormican is a Northern
Kentucky native who tours regularly and is currently sporting his latest album,
ALWAYS IN THE MOOD FOR YOU. Cormican, a huge John Denver fan, wrote a
song about the late singer when he heard of his death and subsequently became
part of a tribute album and a concert in Colorado honoring him.
Cormican's rustic, acoustic-based
songs see the romanticism, and Cormican does a good job on songs like "One Fine
Autumn Day" (the song he wrote for Denver) and "Hearthstone Fire" of matching
the wistful mood with breezy flute, strings and piano. Cormican's simple,
folksy style recalls the music of John Prine, James Taylor and, of course, John
Denver."
